Intra-Galactic Survey The IGS uses conventional star, hyper-, and compression drives to travel and to place the jump stations that everyone uses today to travel through the galaxy. Its costs are subsidized by charging for the use of these jump stations and by their being paid to chart and maintain a file of mining claims that are universally recognized and honored. The IGS is respected throughout the galaxy and is one of the few Avalorr-based organizations to maintain offices on Earth or the Rach homeworld of Mohr. In addition to the IGS, jump stations are also maintained by the economic and military powers of the galaxy to insure the uninterrupted flow of commerce and the rapid deployment of military forces during times of crisis.
